The Supa Inclusive School is located in one of the poorest regions of the Far-Western Development Region, Nepal (Kailali District), and provides education for sixty physically and mentally disabled children. The school was built originally to accommodate a maximum of twenty children. However, the demand was so great that, after a short time, the school was already bursting at the seams – given also that the children live there all year round. The children slept six to a bed. The food was insufficient; only two meals per day, consisting of lentil soup and rice. Two old, almost broken wheelchairs were shared by the 17 children who are handicapped, while the rest crawled in the dirt on the ground. The clothes as well as the children themselves were permanently covered in dust and dirt. The only toilet is a shed with a hole in the ground. There is also no shower; a rusty water tap behind the school building is the only way to keep clean. For the children this is not possible without assistance.
