Rautahat district has a a very low literacy rate(42%) and poor economic condition and  Chay Ya believes that the education of children is the backbone of the village communities and leads to a sustainable reduction of poverty. Especially underprivileged ethnic groups and castes have very difficult access to education in Nepal, as do girls. In the Shree Basic School located at Paroha Municipality-6, Bhediyahi, however, exactly these two groups are targeted. The completion of this project will provide 414 children who are enrolled there with spacious classrooms to study and hygienic toilets. The children will no longer need to stay outside in 42 degree celsius heat during summer for studies just because of lack of spaces.

The local government does not possess enough budgetary means in order to build more classrooms without external support. However, the Paroha Municipality has also provided the financial support to this project. This project has been initiated with generosity of Crossing Boarders in cooperation with Chay Ya Austria and is being carried out in the supervision of Chay Ya Nepal which will also bear the cost of monitoring of following two years after the completion with local authority.
