The Asian Legacy Library (ALL) aims to find philosophical, religious and cultural manuscripts in Sanskrit, Tibetan, Pali and Chinese, catalogue them, preserve them and put them online free of charge. Some of the texts are over 2,500 years old and contain the cultural heritage of the great cultures of the East.
For this purpose, ALL has created a database where you can search for titles/authors/keywords and download the corresponding works. All this is free of charge!
The Chay Ya Austria / Asian Legacy Library cooperation project tries to make these sources of Asian wisdom accessible to the whole world.
The staff members come from regions where these cultural treasures were written and printed. They are refugees or live in countries where economic or political problems endanger these great works. The women receive training in useful skills (reading, writing, foreign languages, computer training) and thus the opportunity to feed themselves and their families. At the same time, they make an invaluable contribution to preserving their cultural heritage.
