A 7.8 magnitude earthquake triggered on 25 April 2015, followed by many aftershocks caused devastation in mid hills and mountain of Nepal. Almost 9,000 people have been killed, with more than 22,000 people injured. Nearly 800,000 houses have been destroyed or damaged, along with 30,000 classrooms, government offices and heritage sites.
Chay Ya operated relief distribution after this devastating earthquake in the most severely hit districts of Nepal. Its staffs were immediately deployed on relief support, cooperating with local partner organizations in the remote communities in highly affected districts for distributing relief aid materials to more than 3000 families.
