On the night of November 3 to 4, 2023, the earth shook in the province of Karnali (magnitude 6.4).
Over 150 people died in the districts of Jajarkot and Rukum. Over 8,000 houses were destroyed and thousands of families were left with nothing from one moment to the next. In addition, winter is approaching and the nights are already freezing cold.
Chay Ya Nepal has been organizing relief supplies since Saturday (Nov 4) to provide people in the affected villages with food and essentials (such as blankets, tarpaulins and cooking pots).
Chay Ya Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein started fundraising the day after the earthquake to ensure that the aid reaches the affected villages as quickly as possible.
