Basic Hospital Building Completed in Dharché, Gorkha

Gorkha, Mangsir 6 – The construction of a five-bed Dharché Basic Hospital building in Dharché Rural Municipality, located in northern Gorkha, has been completed. The hospital has been built under the federal government’s nationwide plan to establish basic hospitals in all local municipalities.

The hospital building was constructed in Ward No. 3 of Dharché Rural Municipality, in the village of Khola Bensi, with financial support from the Swiss organization HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation (referred to here as “Erch C Air”) and coordination from Chay-Ya Nepal, according to Rural Municipality Chairperson Laxman Gurung.

He stated, “The total cost of the hospital building was NPR 22.8 million. Of that, 40% was funded by the rural municipality, and the remaining 60% was contributed by Erch C Air.”

The newly constructed hospital building was officially handed over to the municipality during a program organized on Wednesday. Once the hospital comes into operation, basic healthcare services will be available to residents of both Dharché and Chumnubri Rural Municipalities, informed Chief Administrative Officer Kajiman Sunar.
