COVID-19 Antigen Kit Support in Mugum Karmarong
In response to the recent surge of COVID-19 cases in Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality, located in the eastern region of Mugu district, an organization has stepped in to support the affected communities by providing antigen test kits.
According to Min Bahadur Rawal, the Mugu coordinator of Chay-Ya Nepal, the organization provided 250 antigen kits with financial support after widespread infections were observed during tests conducted on people of all age groups—from children to the elderly.
Rawal further stated that a few days earlier, Chay-Ya Nepal had also supported the municipality with various medical and isolation supplies to strengthen local capacity in managing COVID-19 cases.
To help protect residents from the virus, the local government of Mugum Karmarong and other governmental and non-governmental agencies operating in the area have also been contributing antigen kits and health supplies.
Health workers are regularly visiting communities, conducting health check-ups, delivering awareness messages, and encouraging locals to follow proper health and safety protocols.
Additionally, Chief Administrative Officer Tirtha Bahadur Kathayat of Mugum Karmarong Rural Municipality informed that the municipality is also procuring additional medicines to enhance the response to the COVID-19 situation in the region.
